Surpassing $1 trillion in cumulative FDI inflows since 2000 and achieving a 26% growth in FDI during the first half of the fiscal year underscores its appeal as a business hub.

The 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), scheduled from January 20-24, 2025, in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, will be a defining moment for India to showcase its transformative growth and ambitious vision. With its focus on artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, and fostering global partnerships, India aligns perfectly with WEF 2025’s theme, “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age.”

Leading Across Five Key Workstreams

India stands at the forefront of exploring innovative solutions across WEF 2025’s five key workstreams:

  1. Reimagining Growth: Emphasizing inclusive and sustainable economic development.
  2. Investing in People: Highlighting India’s focus on skill development and empowering its vast workforce.
  3. Rebuilding Trust: Showcasing governance reforms, transparency, and trust-building measures.
  4. Industries in the Intelligent Age: Leveraging AI and digital technologies for transformative industrial growth.
  5. Safeguarding the Planet: Prioritizing renewable energy, sustainable farming, and green technologies.

This approach underscores India’s commitment to creating a brighter, more interconnected, and sustainable future.

A Unified Vision: One Nation, One Voice

India’s delegation, led by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, along with key ministers and representatives from six progressive states, reflects a unified vision of growth. These states—Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala—will present industrial advancements, investment opportunities, and success stories, further enhancing India’s global appeal.

India’s Participation: Showcasing Strengths

India’s pavilion and participation will spotlight:

  • Innovation and Technology Leadership: Demonstrating AI’s transformative potential and the nation’s readiness for the Intelligent Age.
  • Sustainability and Trust: Highlighting progress in renewable energy and green initiatives.
  • Economic Partnerships and Investments: Displaying India’s success as a prime destination for global investments.
  • Supply Chain Diversification: Promoting India’s role as a resilient supply chain hub.

India will co-host the session “AI and FDI: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Investment” to highlight the synergies between technology and sustainable development, bolstered by global partnerships through platforms like the World Investment for Development Alliance (WIDA).

India’s Economic Success Story

India’s remarkable economic growth is a global inspiration. Surpassing $1 trillion in cumulative FDI inflows since 2000 and achieving a 26% growth in FDI during the first half of the fiscal year underscores its appeal as a business hub. Policies like Make in India, Digital India, and Startup India have created a robust ecosystem fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment.

Sustainability and AI: Pillars of Progress

India’s leadership in renewable energy and AI-driven industries is shaping a sustainable and inclusive growth trajectory. Investments in solar, wind, and green hydrogen sectors, coupled with innovations in AI, are paving the way for a low-carbon future. These efforts highlight India’s dedication to safeguarding the planet while driving economic growth.

Global Collaborations Driving Progress

India’s emphasis on fostering international partnerships reflects its commitment to collective problem-solving. At WEF 2025, India will engage in Government-to-Business (G2B) and Government-to-Government (G2G) dialogues, furthering collaborations that align with its vision for global prosperity.

Modi Government’s Vision for Viksit Bharat

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is on a transformative journey toward Viksit Bharat by 2047. Policies fostering innovation, transparency, and sustainability, coupled with a focus on empowering people, are building a resilient, self-reliant, and globally connected nation.

At WEF 2025, India will not only present its growth story but inspire the world with its vision for a brighter, more intelligent, and interconnected future, reaffirming its role as a leader in the Intelligent Age.
